Caorunn Evening with Ervin Trykowski 21/3/13

The Archduke, Ervin Trykowski,  himself  will be gracing us with his presence in an evening of tasting and discussion of Caorunn gin, it's roots and it's use in cocktails. Caorunn is distilled at Balmenach Distillery, a working malt whisky distillery, that traces its origins back to 1824, making it one of the oldest distilleries in the Speyside region of the Scottish Highlands.

The event will be held on Thursday 21st March at Dome in Prestwick @ 7pm (19:00)

West Brewery Round Up

It's safe to say all of the WCB crew who attended the tour of WEST Brewery in Glasgow had a fantastic afternoon (and evening). The staff were friendly and informative and it is, in my opinion,  one of the better brewery tours available in Scotland. 

WCB says thank you first for foremost to Mr Harry Savory for organising this fantastic event, to WEST Brewery for being gracious and informative hosts, and finally to the staff of Maggie May's, Citation, Booly Mardys, Hillhead Bookclub and Bar Soba.

WEST Brewery Live Updates 2

WEST is situated in the old Templeton carpet factory on Glasgow Green, a grade 1 listed building based on a Venetian palace. The bar is styled like a German Beer Hall. 6 years ago, the brewery had one distribution contract - to the WEST Bar. Today the brewery had over 320 distribution contracts. The company has begun construction of a new brewery in Dundas on the old Tennents site, which will triple their output.
